MEMPHIS, Tenn. – In their biggest meet to date, East Texas Baptist University finished in eighth place at the Rhodes College Invitational with 246 points.
Phoebe Dunham was the top runner for ETBU in 25
th place out of 110 runners.
ETBU ran against NCAA Division I programs Memphis and Arkansas State, NCAA Division II programs Mississippi College, Christian Brothers University, Union University, Delta State, Wisconsin Lutheran, and NCAA Division III programs Rhodes, Ozarks, Belhaven, and Mississippi University for Women. They finished with 246 points behind Ozarks 222 (7
th) and Rhodes 74 (2
nd).
Dunham ran the 5K in 19:42.79 finishing in the top 25 by just over 0:00.38 seconds. She was less 15 seconds off the top 20 and is the second fastest time in ETBU program history. Hannah Wills came in 63
rd (22:00.67) and
Mallory Frederick was 68
th (23:35.77). Most of the ETBU runners had personal best times.
ETBU will next run at the Chili Pepper Festival in Arkansas on October 4.
