BELTON, Texas – In their second fall competition, East Texas Baptist University took part in the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusader Classci.

Kristyn Dunn, and
Amelia Anding won their flights in Belton.
Ybarra won all her matches in two sets to secure a flight victory. Ybarra went 6-3, 6-1 against Emma Nordin of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor to win her first round. She then defeated Lucia Rodriquez of St. Thomas 6-2, 6-3 in round two and beat Jolin Ha of UMHB in the finals 6-4, 6-0.
Kristyn Dunn also secured a flight victory, winning all her matches in two sets. In round one, she defeated Mariel Herrera of St. Thomas 6-2, 7-,6. Then, she took on Leane Marie of UMHB, winning 6-2, 6-0. She beat Jazmyn Ford-Shartner in an inter-team battle to win her flight, winning 6-4, 6-0.
Amelia Anding was the third and final flight winner for the Tigers, winning all her matches in two sets. In the first round, she defeated Bailey Parker of Concordia 6-3, 6-0 before moving on to beat Briget Sullivan of the University of Dallas 6-2, 6-4. In her final round, she defeated Ragan Braunum of Concordia (TX) 6-3, 6-1 to secure her flight win.
Alexis Strong won her first round against Bella Barber of Texas Lutheran 6-1, 5-7, 10-3 before taking a second-round loss to Marline McArthur of St. Thomas 7-5, 6-3. Strong bounced back in a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the third round against Maddie Ward of UMHB.
Neyna Gonzalez took two losses to Aria Moreni of Concordia, 6-1, 6-1, and Kendra Werlein of HPU, 6-2, 6-3, but ended on a high note, defeating Hannah White of UMHB 6-1, 6-4.
Jazmyn Ford-Shartner lost her first match to Mikinley Jamison of Schreiner in three sets, 5-7, 6-0, 11-9, but she had a positive second round against Abbie Huges of UMHB, winning 4-6, 6-4, 10-7. She dropped the third round in an inter-squad match against
Kristyn Dunn of ETBU, 6-3, 6-1.
Isabella Macquet won her first round, defeating Lori Bryan of UMHB 6-2, 4-6, 10-8, then dropped her second and third rounds to Kimberly Duncan of Southwestern 6-1, 6-1 and Baliee Lane of UMHB 6-2, 6-4.
Ybarra and Dunn paired up to take third place in doubles for the Tigers, defeating Nordin and Taylor of UMHB 8-5. They then lost to Locke and Cepeda of Southwestern 8-3, but they came back against Lightner and Ramos of Howard Payne 8-2 in the third round.
ETBU will head to the ITA Small College Regional in Abilene on Thursday through Sunday, hosted by Hardin-Simmons.
