MARSHALL, Texas – In his first collegiate football game, East Texas Baptist University's
Mitchell White kicked two field goals en route to being named the American Southwest Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. It is the season's first award for ETBU as they won, 47-8, over Lyon College.
ETBU is 1-0 and will host Oklahoma Panhandle State University on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

East Texas Baptist freshman kicker
Mitchell White (Corinth, Texas) made a strong debut as a freshman, going 2-of-3 in field goals and one touchback in kickoffs. He made a 32-yard and 30-yard field goals in the second half. His first field goal came at 11:55 in the third, making it 37-8. The second field goal was at 1:22 in the fourth quarter for a 47-8 final.
