MARSHALL, Texas – Playing in four games this past week, East Texas Baptist University's
Raef Wright had strong enough numbers to be named the American Southwest Conference Hitter of the Week. This is his first award at ETBU as the Tigers went 3-1 on the week.

Raef Wright hit .538 in four games this week and went 6 for 9 (.667) vs. Chapman, a team receiving votes in the ABCA poll. In the Tigers win over Austin College, Wright tied the game at one in the first inning on a ground out and had a two RBI single in the fourth to give ETBU the lead, 4-2.
In a 12-11 win against Chapman, Wright went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI, 2 runs scored, a double and a home run helping ETBU come from behind for the win. He cut Chapman's lead to one, 3-2, in the first inning with a double for two RBI. He then homered in the seventh to extend the lead to four, 11-7. ETBU baseball will continue their season at St. Thomas Houston on Tuesday, February 17.
