IRVING, Texas – Taking to the golf course for the first time this spring, East Texas Baptist University participated in the University of Dallas Crusader Cup at the Hackberry Creek Country Club. ETBU finished in seventh place out of 13 teams shooting a 658 and were just seven strokes off the top five behind NCAA Division II Southeast Oklahoma State's 651 (323-328)
ETBU shot a 320 on day one for seventh place and stayed in the same spot on day two. They finished with a 338 on day two for the 658.
Kade Bazzell was the top golfer with a 159 shooting a 77 on day one followed by an 82 the next day for a 159.
Caleb Kesting (86-83) and
Colby Hemenes (77-92) tied for 38
th with a 169.
Coleman Bales was then 41
st with a 170 (89-81) shaving eight strokes off his score in day two.
Hutton Hoelscher came in 56
th with a 179 (80-99).
ETBU will next be in action on March 9-10 in Longview, Texas, at the LeTourneau University Pinecrest Invite.
