LONGVIEW, Texas – Competing against several NCAA Division III programs from Texas, Mississippi, and Arkansas, East Texas Baptist University finished tied for fourth at the Crossing Creeks Invite hosted by LeTourneau University. ETBU had two golfers in the top 15 as
Drew Marshall led the way.
ETBU shot a 298 in the first round and then a 285 putting them in contention for the top two teams on the final day. They finished shooting a 299 for an 882 which was six shots off of third and seven shots off of second place.
Marshall shot a 212 to tie for third place and was nine strokes off the medalist and one stroke off of second. His rounds were better each time with a 75, then a 70, and finishing with a 67 as the lowest individual score for the tournament.
Coleman Bales came in 14
th with a 220. His best round was 69 in the second round with a 70 to start with and an 81 on the final day.
