MARSHALL, Texas – In the first round of the NCAA Division III NPI ratings, East Texas Baptist University is no. 3 in the nation. They also maintained their No. 6 ranking in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association weekly ranking. ETBU has now been ranked 166 consecutive weeks in the NFCA Poll.
 
In the NPI, ETBU has 64.784 points and is three points behind Trine's 67.779 and top-ranked Virginia Wesleyan's 69.692. Other teams ETBU has played in the top 25, are No. 2 Trine, No. 12 Belhaven, and No. 22 Mount Union. ETBU is also the top-ranked team in Region X, followed by Linfield, Texas Lutheran, Redlands, Pacific Lutheran, St. Thomas (TX), and Chapman.
 
ETBU stayed at no. 6 in the NFCA Poll with 200 points at 29-3. The top nine teams in the poll did not change, either. ETBU has faced no. 2 Trine, no. 9 Belhaven, and no. 17 Mount Union.
 
ETBU will host the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday at 4:00 p.m. in a doubleheader.
