MARSHALL, Texas – For the second week in a row, East Texas Baptist University has swept the American Southwest Conference Player of the Week awards.
Carson Livesay (hitter) and
Cody Myers (pitcher) earned the awards for their play vs. Howard Payne.
Livesay has now earned the award twice in back-to-back weeks as Myers gains his first ASC award. ETBU went 4-0 last week vs. HPU and finished the regular season 30-10 and went 12-0 in the ASC.

HITTER OF THE WEEK – Carson Livesay, Sr., DH, East Texas Baptist
Carson Livesay helped lead East Texas Baptist to a 4-0 series sweep over Howard Payne, batting .643 for the Tigers. Livesay totaled nine hits, scored eight runs, and drove in seven RBI while drawing three walks on the week. In game one, he put ETBU ahead 2-1 with a two-RBI double, then added another RBI double in the fourth inning to tie the game at 4-4, helping the Tigers secure a 12-8 victory. Livesay scored two runs in each game and finished the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Cody Myers, Jr., P, East Texas Baptist
Junior pitcher
Cody Myers earned the win in game three of the series against Howard Payne, tossing 7.0 innings in a 16-1 victory. Myers did not allow an earned run and recorded nine strikeouts, tying his career high set earlier this season. He held HPU batters to a .095 average and retired 10 consecutive batters during his outing.
