MARSHALL, Texas – Adding more hardware to a storied program, the East Texas Baptist University Tiger Bass Fishing program won the 2026 Texas B.A.S.S. Nation College Championship on Toledo Bend.
Trey McMeen III and
Dylan Armstrong brought home the championship in the two-day tournament.
McMeen III and Armstrong finished with a two-day total of 43.57 pounds to take the championship. They opened the tournament with 18.83 pounds on day one and brought in 24.74 pounds on day two for the victory. They were a pound ahead of the second-place team and three pounds from the third-place contenders.
Earlier this month, McMeen III and Armstrong also qualified for the Bassmaster College Series National Championship Tournament when they finished 24
th on Sam Rayburn.
This is the final tournament of the year for the Texas B.A.S.S. Nation College Division competition that started in November.
ETBU is in its ninth year as a program and has sent a boat to a national tournament (MLF/Bassmaster/B.A.S.S.) in every season, including a win at the 2022 MLF College National Championship. They have won the FLW Southern Conference Championship, the Tackle Warehouse School of the Year, and the Bassmaster College Classic, as well as numerous collegiate tournaments.
