MARSHALL, Texas – East Texas Baptist University has announced the hiring of Jordan Burchette as the Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach. Burchette has spent the past five years in West Texas serving as an assistant coach at Abilene Christian University (NCAA DI) and Hardin-Simmons University (NCAA DIII).

"We are thrilled to welcome Coach Burchette to the Tiger Family as our new Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach. Throughout our search, it became clear that Jordan not only possesses the expertise and competitiveness to continue to elevate our golf program, but also a perfect match with ETBU's Christ-centered mission. I am confident that she will disciple our student-athletes daily, fostering spiritual growth while pursuing excellence on the course," Vice President for Campus Life, Ryan Erwin said.

"At ETBU, our goal is to develop champions for Christ both on and off the field of field of competition. In Jordan, we have found a leader who deeply understands that calling and has a commitment to servant leadership, combined with a proven track record in golf, which makes her the perfect fit to guide our young men and women for the years to come.  We look forward to watching our golf program thrive under her Godly leadership," Erwin added.

Burchette comes to ETBU after one season as the Assistant Women's Golf Coach at Abilene Christian, where she had a student-athlete, Ryann Honea,  make the NCAA Division I Waco Regional Tournament, who recorded her best performance in three Regional Tournament appearances. ACU finished second at the WAC Championships, missing the championship win by just 11 strokes and placed three golfers on the All-WAC Tournament team. The Wildcats won the West Texas Classic on March 2-3 and came in second at the Oral Roberts Lady Clerico Tournament.

"I am incredibly honored and grateful for the opportunity to become the next head coach at East Texas Baptist University. ETBU is a university that I have always held in the highest regard because of its commitment to excellence, faith, and developing servant leaders. I am excited to lead this program to new heights and build a culture that reflects the values and mission of the university. Most importantly, I look forward to investing in our student-athletes and helping them grow not only on the golf course, but also as young men and women who will go into the world as Christian leaders. My family and I cannot wait to be a part of the ETBU community and get started," says Burchette.
