CLAREMONT, Calif. – Playing in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second year in a row, No. 66 East Texas Baptist University took on host No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. In the night match at CMS, ETBU fell to the Staggs, 4-0, as their season ended at 13-8.
ETBU started doubles play down, 1-0.
Sam Black and
Max Karseno fell at No. 1 6-0.
Drew Van Wyk and
Carson Crow then lost the No. 2 match, 6-2.
CMS won three singles matches to take the win, 4-0.
Baptiste Berthier lost, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 5 and then
Erick Van Zyl fell at No. 4, 6-1, 6-1.
Jaco Snyman lost at No. 2, 6-1, 6-1.
ETBU finished with 13 wins and won their second straight American Southwest Conference Tournament Championship.
