MARSHALL, Texas – Chosen as one of top academic baseball student-athletes for NCAA Division III, East Texas Baptist University's
Connor Massimini is a College Sports Communicators Academic All-American voted onto the First Team. Massimini is the sixth student-athlete to earn the award for the baseball program and third to be named to first team.
Massimini is one of three outfielders named to the 12-person CSC All-Academic First Team as nine outfielders made the three teams. He graduated in May with a 3.56 in Criminal Justice and is a three-time ASC All-Academic team member and ABCA Team Academic Award.
The past three years he has helped with the ETBU fall baseball youth camp, Morning High 5's at Marshall ISD schools, and Operation Christmas Child. He earned two All-American awards from D3baseball.com and the ABCA, was the ASC Male Athlete of the Year, and was ASC All-Tournament. He finished the year with 16 home runs and 61 RBI to lead the ASC. He recorded a .342 batting average in 53 games played and started with 12 doubles and a .658 slugging percentage.
ETBU won 40 games, finished with a No. 3 final ranking, played in the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament, and won the NCAA Division III Super Regional and Regional Championships along with the ASC Tournament.
