MARSHALL, Texas – After another historic postseason baseball run, East Texas Baptist University's coaching staff has been named the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Region X Coaching Staff of the Year. It is the third time that head coach Jared Hood's staff has received this award earning the award in 2023 and 2021.
 
ETBU's staff was also the American Southwest Conference Coaching Staff of the Year for the sixth time. Associate head coach Tanner Matthews, Assistant Coach Connor Anderson, Head Developmental Coach Ethan Wood, and Graduate Assistant Cass Flores were all apart of Hood's staff.
 
The ABCA/ATEC Regional and National Coaches of the Year are selected by members of the ABCA, with the process led by the ABCA All-America & Coach of the Year committees in all nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and High School.
 
ETBU posted their second-ever 40-win season, finished ranked No. 3 in the nation, and won the NCAA Division III Super Regional, Regional, and ASC Tournament Championships making it to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament. They posted a program best 21-game win streak, broke No. 1 Denison University's 44-game win streak, upset No. 2 Lynchburg for the Super Regional Championship and went undefeated in April.
