MARSHALL, Texas – Voted as the best NCAA Division III third baseman, East Texas Baptist University's
Jobee Boone earned an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Gold Glove. He is the first player to earn the award as a top nine player in the nation as Tyler Bates received a ABCA Regional Gold Glove in 2015. To be in the top nine in the nation, Boone also was on the ABCA Region X All-Defensive Team.
Boone started 45 games and played in 46 posting a .975 fielding percentage with 51 putouts, 103 assists, and four errors helping to turn 17 double plays. He also batted .331 with 55 hits, 10 doubles, one triple, four home runs, and 40 RBI.
ETBU won 40 games, finished with a No. 3 final ranking, played in the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament, and won the NCAA Division III Super Regional and Regional Championships along with the ASC Tournament.
