Rylee Beard provides the day 3 recap of the ETBU Golf TAME trip to Northern Ireland.
"Today my team and I had the opportunity to share our faith and our love for golf with a group of young students. Salt Factory Sports supported us in working together to plan fun chipping and putting stations that students could participate in. We got to work directly with the students and teach them different golf skills.
Benji, our Salt Factory Sports coordinator,
Halee Johnson, and Maddy Davis also had the opportunity to share an amazing story about a golfer named Graeme McDowell, and how his story related to Joesph in the Bible. We wanted to encourage students to be brave and courageous, and to never give up. Getting to have conversations with groups of students and answer questions about our faith, and even questions about America was exciting and overall something we all really enjoyed. I'm thankful for the opportunity to share my passions and I can only hope to make a difference in all of those students lives.
The second half of our day, we had the incredible opportunity to play at a course called Malone Golf Club in Belfast. It was the most prestigious Parklands course in Northern Ireland and we were so thankful to be able to enjoy every second of it. We wouldn't have had the opportunity if it weren't for Bill MisCampbell, an encouraging and inspiring man, who was the former captain of Malone Golf Club.
After golf, we got to eat dinner as a group in the clubhouse and learn all about Bill. He got to share his story and we learned about his family, friends, and how he created the Malone Golf Club's first ever Men's Fellowship group. As a team, we got to pray for Bill, his family, his health, and the mark he has made on others around him. We ended our day with a devotional given by Benji, and an incredible lesson on conversations with Jesus and how we can build our relationship with Him. We are so ready to wake up tomorrow for a new day and continue to spread the love of God."
