MARSHALL, Texas – Named as one of the top academic teams in the nation, East Texas Baptist University's volleyball program earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the seventh year in a row. For the second year in a row, they were named to the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll program for being in the Top 20% of the team GPAS for NCAA Division III.
ETBU finished the year with a 3.72 cumulative grade point average under Head Coach
Mallory Matthews, which is higher than the 3.69 they posted in 2024-25, to lead all ETBU athletic programs. They had 17 student-athletes on the ASC All-Academic team as
Graycee Mosley was the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America of the Year and an Academic All-American First Team selection.
Finishing the year at 34-1, ETBU won the program's first NCAA Division III Regional Tournament, was the No. 1 overall seed for the National Championship Tournament, earned the program's first-ever No. 1 ranking, and won the ASC Regular Season and Tournament Championships. They posted a program best 34 match winning streak which is also the most wins in program history.
To earn the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award, a program had to maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale).
