MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Taking a road trip to Tennessee, East Texas Baptist University couldn't find their offensive push from the past four matches as they fell to Rhodes College, 6-1 on Friday. ETBU put one of its six shots on goal and made eight saves while facing 28 shots.
Joshua Daley scored the Tigers' goal and led the team with three shots, putting one on goal.
Braxton Ladwig recorded the assist for one point. Goalkeeper
Ryan Lord finished with eight.
ETBU earned three corner kicks between 9:40 and 15:51, but Rhodes scored first at 10:58. Lord made three first-half saves, including two in the opening eight minutes. Rhodes added a second goal at 30:18, and the Tigers went into halftime down 2-0.
Daley provided ETBU's second-half breakthrough, scoring off Ladwig's assist at 63:17 to make it 3-1. Earlier, the Tigers generated pressure with a Daley shot, a
Dylan Garcia shot, and two corner kicks in the opening minutes of the half. Rhodes answered with three goals after Daley's finish and closed out a 6-1 final.
ETBU plays Sewanee on Sunday, Sept. 20, at noon at Rhodes College.

First Half
- Lord saved multiple shots at 3:41 and 7:39, and ETBU earned consecutive corners at 9:40 and 10:12 before Rhodes went ahead 1-0 at 10:58.

- Rhodes answered with multiple goals at 66:05 and at 72:15, then added a final goal at 87:01 after Lord made four saves during a late Rhodes attacking stretch.
