MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Competing against NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA programs, East Texas Baptist University finished fourth of 10 teams at the Rhodes College Cross Country Invitational. ETBU ran against NCAA Division I programs Arkansas, Little Rock, and Memphis and finished just 50 points behind the top team, Memphis.
Danna Requena was the Tigers' top runner, placing fifth overall as ETBU had three runners finish top 15 and five runners finish in the top 30.
Requena finished fifth with a time of 19:51.30 out of 90+ runners in the 5K race. She was one of only five runners to reach the finish below the 20-minute mark.
Kylea Hatfield finished in 13th (20:32), and
Sadie Loftis came in 15th (20:35) to round out the top 15.
Aubree Gamblin came in 26th (21.40), and
Reyli Rubio was just behind in 29th (22:01) to round out ETBU's top five and the race's top 30.
ETBU will run in the Southwestern Showdown on October 3
rd as their next meet.
