MARSHALL, Texas – For the second week in a row, East Texas Baptist University has swept the American Southwest Conference Volleyball Player of the Week awards. Sadie Kaswoski (Defense) and
Lara Hornsby (Offensive) earned the awards.
Below are the ASC recaps for the award.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK | Lara Hornsby, OH, So., East Texas Baptist
Lara Hornsby was an offensive threat throughout the week, averaging 4.17 kills per set. In the opening week of ASC play, she recorded 50 kills, including 31 kills and 27 digs in conference play. In a five-set win over Schreiner, Hornsby recorded 17 kills while hitting .237 and added 15 digs. Her week high of 19 kills came against Austin College. She totaled 59 points across the three matches.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK | Sadie Kasowski, L, Jr., East Texas Baptist
Sadie Kasowski averaged 4.25 digs per set in a 3-0 week for ETBU. She totaled 51 digs on 72 receptions without committing a receiving error. Kasowski recorded a match-high 24 digs against Austin College before adding 15 digs in a five-set battle against Schreiner. She also recorded two service aces during the week.
