Cody Johnson enters his second season under coaching head coach Jared Hood transitioning to the Director of Player Development and Head Developmental Coach. Johnson was a graduate assistant for the 2024 season after playing for Hood in 2023. 

Last year, he assisted with the pitchers and developmental team. He was a part of the coaching staff that was honored as the ASC Coaching Staff of the Year as ETBU won the regular season championship and the NCAA Division III Marshall, Texas Regional Championship. The Tiger pitching staff was one of the best in the nation that included ABCA and the Perfect Game Pitcher of the Year in Sayers Collins. 
 
Johnson was a key reliever for the Tigers in 2023 leading ETBU to their first American Southwest Conference Tournament championship and third place at the NCAA Division III National Tournament. He made 17 appearances with one save with 20 strikeouts while pitching in 16.1 innings recording a 2.76 ERA. Seven of his 20 strikeouts came in the post season while pitching 6.1 innings in six games. His career high of three strikeouts came against Mary Hardin-Baylor on March 25.
 
In summer 2023, Johnson was the pitching coach for the Edenton Steamers in the Premier Collegiate League where they won the League Championship. 
 
Prior to ETBU, Johnson pitched three years at Oklahoma Christian where he made 23 appearance pitching 21.1 innings with 27 strikeouts. His best season came in 2021 with 19 strikeouts in 15 innings pitched.
 
He graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration from Oklahoma Christian in 2022 and in 2023 with a Master’s in Business Administration from ETBU.
