Coming back to the collegiate ranks after a stint as a professional coach, Josh Moore will be the Assistant Head Coach for Offense and quarterbacks coach under Head Coach Brian Mayper. Moore has coached in the NFL, CFL, XFL, NCAA Division I, NJCAA, and the high school ranks.

"I am excited to have Coach Moore join our staff as he brings a wealth of knowledge from NCAA Division I, the NFL, CFL and XFL. He was instrumental in securing a Grey Cup victory with the Toronto Argonauts, as well as the implementation of the Tampa Bay Vipers in the XFL.  Coach Moore is established as an excellent recruiter and we are excited to have him as our Assistant Head Coach for Offense and working with our quarterbacks. Coach Moore is passionate about using the sport of football to disciple young men into followers for Christ and makes him a perfect fit for Tiger Football. We look forward to welcoming Josh, his wife Keri, and children: Jameson and Whitney to the ETBU Family," Mayper said.

Mayper and Moore last worked together in 2013 where Moore coached running backs and served as recruiting coordinator at Navarro College. He led back-to-back players to All-American Honors and Conference MVP awards, as Navarro finished first in the nation with 47 rushing touchdowns and second in overall rushing with 3,457 yards.

He comes to ETBU after serving as the Offensive Coordinator at Jacksonville High School this past fall and has many East Texas ties.

Moore says, "My family and I are blessed to have this opportunity and we are truly excited to be a part of the Tiger Family! I have no doubt that ETBU is where God has called us to be."

PROFESSIONAL COACHING
Having the experience to coach in three different professional leagues, Moore brings an offensive expertise that players used at the highest level. He coached two seasons for the Toronto Argonauts, winning the 2017 Grey Cup Championship as the running backs coach. In that season he coached the CFL Rookie of the Year in James Wilder and Declan Cross, who became a CFL PA All-Star.

The 2019-2020 season brought him to the XFL, as the Director of Football Operations for the Tampa Bay Vipers. He helped with team decisions leading 27 staff members and 75 players for the start-up XFL team before the season was prematurely ended due to COVID-19.

Working in the NFL for the Chicago Bears in 2014, he was the Assistant to Head Coach Marc Trestman. He assisted the coaching staff with playbook development, offensive strategies, and with overall operations.

COLLEGIATE COACHING
Coaching at NCAA Division I and the NJCAA level, he brings experience in recruitment to ETBU. At Both Georgia State and Navarro College, he was the recruiting coordinator. Starting his collegiate coaching career at Georgia State under Bill Curry, he began as a Graduate Assistant helping with the wide receivers and football operations in 2010. He was then promoted to the On-Campus Recruiting Coordinator, while also coaching the wide receivers. During the 2011-13 year, Moore helped to evaluate players for recruitment, planned pro days, and assisted with academics within the program.

In 2013, he was a part of Navarro College's 9-3 season, winning the Brazos Valley Bowl as the running backs and tight ends coach, along with being the Recruiting Coordinator. Navarro set the program record for points in a season at 523, and finished second in the nation in rushing yards (3,457) and first in rushing touchdowns (47).

HIGH SCHOOL COACHING
Making two coaching stops in East Texas, Moore spent the 2016 season coordinating the offense at Palestine High School, increasing their scoring average by 22 points per game. He also directed the 7-on-7 program, qualifying for the State Tournament Championship Bracket for the first time in school history. This past fall, he was the Offensive Coordinator at Jacksonville High School.

AIR FORCE
Moore served a decade in the United States Air Force, as a weather forecaster on three deployments and supporting Space Shuttle missions at Cape Canaveral AFS. He was named the Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year and earned the Air Force Commendation Medal three times. Twice he was given the 12th Operational Weather Squadron Forecaster of the Year, as the Assistant Station Chief at Randolph Air Force Base and awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal.

He and his wife Keri have been married for 15 years and have two children, Jameson (7) and Whitney (2), and attend Evangelistic Temple in Palestine, Texas.
