Biography

Kwame De’Von Spikes...son of Alfred and Veronica Spikes...has one brother, Jacquise Spikes...Kinesiology major...teaches Sunday School for second- and third-graders at home church...enjoys fishing and spending time with family...wants to become a basketball and/or football coach.

At ETBU: 2011 (JUNIOR): All-American Southwest Conference second-team...finished with 42 catches for 532 yards and four touchdowns...tied for team lead in receptions...caught at least one pass in every game...had four or more catches in eight of 10 games played...averaged 24.3 yards on 19 kick returns...had a career-long 79-yard kickoff return vs. Austin College (9/10)...also had five rushing attempts for 21 yards...had five catches for 101 yards and two touchdowns, including a 70-yard reception, in 54-14 win at Sul Ross State in season finale (11/12)...caught five passes for 64 yads and a touchdown vs. Howard Payne (11/5)...opened the year with six catches for 63 yards at Wesley College (9/3)...caught six passes for 69 yards and a touchdown vs. Texas Lutheran (9/17)...had four catches for 72 yards in a homecoming win over Mississippi College (10/15). 2010 (SOPHOMORE): Honorable mention All-American Southwest Conference…started 10 games as a slot receiver…led all wide receivers in receptions, with 34…caught seven passes for 117 yards and a 66-yard touchdown at Texas Lutheran (9/18)…caught a career-high eight passes for 52 yards vs. Mary Hardin-Baylor (10/23)…caught at least three passes in a game six times…also threw two touchdown passes on reverse plays, including a 50-yarder at Hardin-Simmons (10/2) and a 71-yarder against Mary Hardin-Baylor (10/23)…averaged 19.5 yards on 18 kick returns, with a long of 44 yards. 2009 (FRESHMAN): Played in seven games and caught six passes for 45 yards as a true freshman...caught two passes for 21 yards against Mississippi College.

High School: Named first-team All-District and All-East Texas as a senior at Jasper High School...voted second-team All-District following junior season...basketball standout as well, named All-District, All-East Texas and All-Southeast Texas during his career...Drug Test Committee, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Site Base Committee...made the A-B Honor Roll…coached by Thomas Brooks.
