Jamaal Williams

Jamaal Anthony Williams is entering his fourth year as the assistant coach for cross country and track and field at East Texas Baptist University. He served as the graduate assistant during the 2016 season and was brought on as the assistant the following year.

As a student-athlete, he started his career spending one year at Xavier University where finished ninth in the GCAC as a freshman receiving All-Conference honors. During track season he helped the 4x800 meter relay to a GCAC championship qualifying for NAIA nationals and then was runner-up in the 800 meter run.
         
The following year he transferred to the Wiley College where he majored in History. He was then a part of school history being a member of 2015 cross country team that won the first Red River Athletic Conference title since the sport was started at the school.  He was won a RRAC championship in track by winning the 800 meter in 2014. He went to the national cross country meet every year he was in college and remained on the Dean’s List all three years while attending Wiley College. His junior year he joined Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated where he would become both the vice president and chapter president by his senior year.

After graduating from Wiley in 2016, he went on to attend East Texas Baptist University where he would receive his master’s degree in Sports and Exercise Leadership. He has a daughter Aubrey Nicole Williams whom was born on May 27th, 2016, 15 days after he received his first degree.
