  • Majoring in biology
  • Father was a four-year football letter winner at Texas Tech (1981-84) and was signed by the Dallas Cowboys after his college career
  • Mother was a four-year letter winner (1981-84) for Texas Tech’s swimming and diving team, which has since been disbanded
  • Maternal grandfather Bob Bryant was a three-year letter winner at Texas in the late 1950s, and played in the American Football League and in Canada; a tight  end, his best pro season in the U.S. came in 1960, when he caught five passes for 43 yards for the Dallas Texans (now Kansas City Chiefs)
