Coach Ethan Wood comes to East Texas Baptist University after completing his first year as an assistant coach for the LeTourneau baseball program under head coach Paul Phillips in 2025. He was part of the staff in 2025 that earned ASC Coaching Staff of the Year as they earned a share of the ASC regular season title for the first time in program history. Guiding the infielders, Wood helped LeTourneau post a .961 fielding percentage -- the highest in head coach Paul Phillips' tenure - as all four regular starting infielders earned All-ASC honors.

Wood was a four-year player for LeTourneau and a two-time All-ASC selection during his career from 2021-24. He earned two All-ASC honorable mention awards in  2022 and 2024. His best season came in 2022 when he hit a career-best .299 with 16 RBI. He was also a three-time ASC Academic All-Conference honoree and a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection.

He earned his bachelor's degree from LeTourneau in business and is pursuing a master's degree in business administration.
