East Texas Baptist University Athletics

Larry Northcutt serves as East Texas Baptist University Assistant Vice President for University Safety and Compliance. He was promoted to an Assistant Vice President in September 2022 after being the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Accountability as well as the Director of Security. 

Northcutt previously served as an Assistant Athletic Director and NCAA Compliance Officer for Dallas Baptist University.  He also served as the NCAA Division II Heartland Conference Sports Information Director for 11 years.  Northcutt has taught emergency medical services, crisis/emergency management, and fire safety at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Southwestern and in the Dallas County Community College District.  He previously served as a fireman and EMT-Paramedic with Dallas Fire and Rescue. 

Northcutt oversees NCAA Compliance, University Security, and safety operations at ETBU.  As part of his accountability position, he helps promote leadership, oversight for insuring accountability, and Christian character and ethics in our Tiger Athletic Department and among our students.

In addition to his NCAA Compliance work, Northcutt is the Health Care Administrator for the Athletic Department, is an Adjunct Professor in the Kinesiology Department, serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator, and is on the NAAC Awards and Membership Committee. 

Northcutt graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a B.B.A. in Management and a Masters in Higher Education with emphasis on administration, as well as a Masters of Science in Kinesiology from East Texas Baptist University. He is married to Carrie and they have four children, Emery, Abram, Archer, and Eli.
