Brandon Curran

Brandon Curran enters his fourth year at East Texas Baptist University as the head men’s basketball coach. He has taken ETBU to three straight American Southwest Conference Tournaments and played for the championship in the 2017-18 season. This will be his 21st year coaching collegiate basketball.
 
2018-19 Highlights
  • Third straight appearance in the ASC Tournament
  • Six players earned All-ASC honors
  • Spencer Cochran was named ASC East Freshman of the Year
  • Jordan Gray was voted the ASC Men’s Basketball Distinguished Scholar-Athlete
  • Jordan Gray made the CoSIDA Academic All-District team
  • NABC Team Honor Roll Award
  • Finished 8-5 in Ornelas Gym
  • Robby Dooley recorded his 1,000th career point

2017-18 Highlights
  • Played SRSU in the ASC Championship game
  • Tied the second most wins in program history (21)
  • Had four players named to All-ASC teams
  • Recorded an eight-game winning streak
  • Finished 7-3 at Ornelas Gymnasium
  • Went 13-5 in ASC games
  • Defeated LETU in the ASC Tournament to advance to the Championship game

2016-17 Highlights
  • Earned a bid to the ASC Tournament
  • Went 8-3 in Ornelas Gym
  • Defeated non-conference regional competition: Centenary, Rhodes College, Texas Lutheran, Schreiner, & Huntingdon College
  • Three players earned All-ASC honors
  • Posted a six-game winning streak from December 10 through January 7th

About Brandon Curran
  • 20 years coaching in college
  • Graduate of the University of Texas-Austin (1997)
  • Earned a Master’s Degree from Dallas Baptist in business administration in 2009
  • Coached at NCAA Division I, II, and NJCAA levels
  • Married to Jennifer and they have three children ages 15, 5, 3
  • Worked at University of Texas (D1), Centenary (D1), Dallas Baptist (D2), and Jacksonville College (JC)
  • Was an assistant coach for the Galveston Storm (1 year) in SW Pro League
  • Associate head coach for 10 years at DBU
  • Coached six years at Jacksonville College
  • Was head coach at Jacksonville College for three of the six years
  • Spent one season with Centenary College (La.) at the NCAA Division I level
  • Helped DBU to 2015-16 Heartland Conference Championship and into the NCAA Division II Tournament
  • Recruited 13 players that produced 25 All-Heartland Conference awards
