Box Score AUSTIN, Texas – Moving their winning streak to 10-games, East Texas Baptist University shut out Concordia University-Texas, 15-0, as Raquel Tello pitched a one hitter. ETBU is now 21-4 overall and 14-1 in the American Southwest Conference.
In the circle for ETBU, Tello (11-1) pitched struck out a pair of batters en route to the one-hit shut out. It was her second win of the series.
Offensively, ETBU finished with 15 base hits, including seven for extra bases, and stole four bases. Lacey Lindsey batted 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBI to go along with four runs scored. Kaitlyn Hollingshead went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a homer and five RBI as well as three runs scored.
Already ahead by a 2-0 margin through two innings, ETBU scored a half dozen times in the top half of the third, including five runs with two outs, to swell its edge to 8-0. Later on with one away and runners on second and third in the fourth inning, Lindsey hit a three-run home run to right-center to make it an 11-0 ETBU lead. To conclude the day's scoring, Hollinghead hit a three-run double, and Jessica Bowden had an RBI single to account for the final score, 15-0.
ETBU plays its next games on the road against top-ranked University of Texas-Tyler. The three-game ASC series is scheduled to start with a doubleheader at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29.
