MARSHALL, Texas – In its next-to-last match of the regular season, the East Texas Baptist University women's team moved past visiting University of the Ozarks (Ark.), 9-0, on Friday afternoon at the Veterans Memorial Tennis Complex. Prior to the match, ETBU recognized seniors Kayla Casey and Sierra Pizarro for their contributions to the program.
With the victory, ETBU goes to 11-4 overall and 2-1 in American Southwest Conference East Division match play.
In doubles play, ETBU coupled a pair of 8-0 victories with a forfeit in the No. 3-seeded flight. Kate Bramlett and Casey were 8-0 winners in the No. 1 match, while Jabree McClaine and Pizarro won in the second-seeded flight by an 8-0 score as well. During the singles action, ETBU dropped zero games and also claimed a forfeit in the No. 6 flight.
ETBU closes its regular season on Saturday morning by completing a suspended match against LeTourneau University at 9:30 a.m.
