MARSHALL, Texas – The East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team closed its regular-season schedule with a 9-0 victory over LeTourneau University on Saturday morning at the Veterans Memorial Tennis Complex. Originally started on April 1, the match was suspended that afternoon due to lightning and rain.
ETBU finishes its regular season at 12-4 overall and 3-1 in American Southwest Conference East Division matches.
Overall, ETBU dropped a combined four games throughout the entire match. In doubles competition, all three flights went in ETBU's favor, including an 8-0 victory at No. 1 by the nationally-ranked doubles pairing of Kate Bramlett and Kayla Casey. During singles play, four different ETBU players won their respective matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores, including Kellie Cawthon in the fourth-seeded flight.
ETBU awaits the announcement of its first opponent for the ASC Championship Tournament set to begin on April 21.
