TYLER, Texas – Finishing up their finest season ever as American Southwest Conference tournament runners-up, the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team fell in the championship match, 5-0, to #33 Texas-Tyler. ETBU finishes the season at 14-5 which is their best season ever in the five-year old program. Kayla Casey and Kate Bramlett were named to the ASC All-Tournament team for their performance.
Kellie Cawthon and Mullika Seekhieo lost their No. 3-seeded match to Kaitlyn Husky and Lauren Kuhn, 8-1, and then Elizabeth Morton and Tiffany Stankiewicz fell in the No. 2 flight, 8-0, against Alexandra McKissick and Nicole Musngi. The last remaining doubles match resulted in a 9-7 victory for Texas-Tyler's Mary Alice Blacketer and Tori Musngi over ETBU's pair of Kate Bramlett and Kayla Casey in the top-seeded flight.
In the singles competition, Tori Musngi won her No. 2 singles match, 6-0, 6-2, against Stankiewicz, and later Nicole Musngi claimed the title-clinching win with a 6-2, 6-1, victory over Jabree McClaine in the fifth-seeded flight.
