ABILENE, Texas – The women's East Texas Baptist University competed in the ITA tournament at Hardin-Simmons and came away with a very strong performance with three members reaching the quarterfinals in singles and one doubles team reaching the finals.

ETBU had five bids in the A draw singles and four of the five members came away with victories in the first round matches. Drawing the seventh and eighth seeds in the tournament, Kate Bramlett and Tiffany Stankiewicz both had great runs all the way to the quarterfinals. Bramlett had victories over Anna Seriouvanni (Austin College) 7-5, 4-6, 12-10, Andrea DeLeon (Trinity) 6-2, 6-3, and #12 seed Tori Musngi (Texas-Tyler) before falling to the #2 seed Marie Lutz (Trinity) 6-4, 6-4. Stankiewicz pulled out wins against Stephanie Bartusov (Southwestern) 6-4, 6-3, Chloe Patterson (McMurry), and the #11 seed Megan Hawkins (Southwestern) 6-1, 7-6 (3) before losing to the #1 seed Liza Southwick (Trinity) 5-7, 6-2, 6-1.

Elsewhere in the A Draw, Mullika Seekhieo came away with a win over the #10 seed Lauren Stanley (Schreiner) 6-3, 6-7, 11-9 before losing to Zoe Kaffen (Trinity) 6-1, 6-1 while Elisa Kendall defeated Hannah Smith (Hardin-Simmons) 3-6, 7-6 (5), 10-8 before falling to the #4 seed Caroline Kutach (Trinity) 6-0, 6-2. In the B Draw singles, Jabree McClaine reached the quarterfinals with wins over Terrin Murray (LeTourneau) 7-6 (1), 6-1, and Madison Sieber (Ozarks) 6-0, 2-6, 11-9 before falling to Anamaria Kheveli (Austin College) 6-3, 6-4.

In the A Doubles, Bramlett and Ashley Schneck had a strong run to the quarterfinals with wins over Morrisseau/Murray (LeTourneau) 8-5 and Patterson/Brosig (McMurry) before falling to Arrietta/Musngi (Texas-Tyler) 8-6. The B Doubles would see McClaine and Kendall reaching the finals taking wins over Galliardo/Rodriguez (Sul Ross State) 8-5, and Walker/McCleer (Howard Payne) 8-6 before falling to Ravikumar/Sherman (Hendrix) in a tiebreaker 9-8 (5).
