HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Playing three matches in three days on spring break in South Carolina, the East Texas Baptist University women's team ran their win streak to 10 straight matches. ETBU earned wins over Westminster College (PA), Messiah College (PA), and Connecticut College to move to 10-1 on the year.
On day one, ETBU only allowed one point in an 8-1 win over Westminster College. ETBU started off with a 3-0 lead in doubles with wins at #1 (8-3), #2 (8-1), and #3 (8-4) doubles matches. They then won matches in singles at number two through six.
Wednesday brought a 9-0 shutout win over Messiah College as ETBU handily won all the matches. In doubles they won the first three matches at #1 (8-1), #2 (8-2), and #3 (8-4). Every player then won their singles match for the 9-0 win.
The final match was cut short due to lights being shut off at the court due to a very late match as ETBU won 5-1 over Connecticut College. ETBU swept through doubles play winning at #1, 8-5, and then taking an 8-0 win at #2 doubles followed by another 8-5 win at #3. In singles, ETBU won the #1 singles and #3 singles for the 5-1 win.
