MARSHALL, Texas – For the 13th straight time the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team has won a match. The winning streak was moved to 13 matches after a 9-0 sweep over Louisiana College in the first American Southwest Conference East Division match of the year. It was also senior day as Kate Bramlett was recognized as she is graduating early in three years.
ETBU jumped out to a 3-0 lead sweeping through doubles play not allowing a single point, 8-0. All three of the doubles matches were 8-0 victories from no.1 Bramlett and Kaleigh Smith, no.2 Tiffany Stankiewicz/Elisa Kendall, and no.3 Jabree McClaine/Ashley Schenck.
Headed into singles, ETBU only gave up two single points in all the matches played. Bramlett won no.1 singles, 6-0, 6-1 and Smith took the no.4 singles 6-0, 6-1. No.2 Stankiewicz, no.3 Kendall, no.5 Mullika Seekhieo, and no.6 Kellie Cawthon all won 6-0, 6-0.
ETBU will have two tough matches on Saturday facing #26 Southwestern at 9:00 a.m. and #14 Trinity University at 3:00 p.m.
