MARSHALL, Texas – Despite outplaying Hendrix throughout the game, the East Texas Baptist University women's team were ultimately outdone by a goal from the first half falling,1-0. The loss puts ETBU at 1-2 for the season.
ETBU started the game by applying chances to the net, which did not go through. About 15 minutes into the game, it was delayed for an hour and a half due to lightning. When the game resumed, ETBU continued to control the tempo until the 41
st minute. That was when Hendrix's Rebecca Biggin scored from 20 yards out for the only goal of the game.
ETBU tried to equalize in the second half as they fired multiple shots but HC's keeper Jordan Rausch prevented any such chances and Hendrix was able to hang on for a 1-0 shutout win.
ETBU outshot HC, 9-3, throughout the entire game including a 4-3 edge in shots on goal. Haqnnah Murin led ETBU with three shots while Kirbriana Bonner and
Ashleigh Rondon each had two shots.
Karrigan Falber collected two saves. For HC, Biggin, McKenna Rylands, and Christina Gorman had one shot each while goalkeeper Rausch collected four saves.
ETBU travels to Lorman, Mississippi this Thursday for a match against NCAA Division I Alcorn State. Kickoff is at 4:00 PM.
