MARSHALL, Texas- This week will feature a series of rematches for the East Texas Baptist University women's basketball team. ETBU will continue American Southwest Conference play on the road this week, kicking off a short two-game road trip with a rematch with the University of the Ozarks on Thursday, February 1. The road trip will conclude with a weekend matchup against the University of Texas Tyler on Saturday, Feb. 3. The Tigers are currently 16-3 overall and 10-2 in ASC games this season.
In ETBU's last meeting with OU, the Tigers took down the Eagles 69-56 on Saturday, Jan. 27.
Madison McCoy led the charge with 16 points and seven assists on 4-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc. After the weekend victory, ETBU improves to 27-12 against the Ozarks entering the rematch on Thursday night. OU is 4-14 overall and 2-10 in Conference matchups this season. Diamond Goodwyn leads the Eagles, averaging 13.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
The final matchup of the week features a Texas Tyler team that is currently riding a two-game winning streak. Now at full strength, the Tigers will look to avenge a 61-56 loss to UTT in Ornelas Gymnasium.
Kim Childress led the charge with 20 points and seven rebounds in 40 minutes played in Thursday night's loss. After 30 meetings, UTT improves to 25-5 overall against ETBU. Overall, the Patriots are 12-7 and 8-4 in the ASC. Alex Kochner leads the team, averaging 11.0 points per game.
As a team, ETBU averages 68.6 points per game, while only allowing 57.9 points on the defensive end. From the field, the Tigers have connected on 41.4 percent of their shots. The Tigers have also converted on 31.5 percent shooting from beyond the arc this season. ETBU has been a serviceable team on the glass, pulling down 40.3 boards per game while only giving up 36.1 rebounds to their opponents.
Leading the way for the Tigers is
Kim Childress, averaging 14.8 points per game to go along with 7.1 rebounds.
Katy Boren ranks second in scoring for ETBU, with 8.9 points per game. Boren is also the top marksman for ETBU, making 45 three pointers for a 42 percent clip this season.
Madison McCoy rounds out the top three scorers, at 7.9 points per game. McCoy is the primary playmaker for ETBU. The freshman point guard averages 4.8 assists per night through 18 games played this season.
Amanda Wilson mans the defensive effort in blocked shots, turning away 1.4 shots per game.

Rusty Rainbolt talked about his team's performance through the difficult stretch of games this season.
"There's no excuses. The mark of a great team is being able to show up and compete and find a way to be successful. We want to be the best team in the league but we want to play in a way that honors the Lord. I'm pleased with the effort and commitment from our players," Rainbolt said.
