JACKSON, Miss. – Limiting the home team to just five shots on the evening, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team shut out Millsaps College (2-7-2), 1-0, on Harper Davis Field. With the regional victory, ETBU improves to 5-4-1 overall.
The Tigers were led on offense by
Kendall Shirley, who scored the team's only goal on seven total shots.
Ashleigh Rondon also attempted a game-high seven shots, four of which came right at the net.

Two early shots by the Majors resulted in saves by Falber to keep the game knotted at 0-0. On the other end, back-to-back shots by Rondon also resulted in saves for the Majors at the 37
th and 39
th minute of the opening half. After the first 45 minutes, neither team recorded a score, leaving the game all squared at 0-0.
ETBU would finally cash in on the game's only goal at the 73:22 mark of the contest with Shirley taking advantage of a well-timed pass from
Kibriana Bonner for the 1-0 lead.
While MC would collect 12 saves in the match, they were unable to score a goal of their own, resulting in a 1-0 victory for the Tigers.
ETBU will return to American Southwest Conference play on Saturday, Oct. 6, when they travel to Longview, Texas, for a meeting with LeTourneau University at 5:00 p.m.
