LONGVIEW, Texas – Playing in an American Southwest Conference night game on the road, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer came up short, 3-1, against LeTourneau University. ETBU is now 5-5-1 overall and are 2-4-0 in the American Southwest Conference.

Ashleigh Rondon compiled four shots and ETBU's only goal on the night. Maddie Rea would make two saves on the day in goal for the Tigers. LETU's Reagan Sandford, Rebekah Stevenson and Lexi Funk scored their goals.

ETBU started the match putting together multiple shot opportunities in the first ten minutes. LETU would be held without a shot until the 16^th minute, but it was in the 22^nd minute when Sandford would put in the first goal of the game. Rondon would then answer back five minutes later when she took advantage of a failed clearance and kicked one over the keeper's head to equalize. Still, it was another five minutes later that LETU took the lead back with a goal from Funk. ETBU would have one chance to tie the game before halftime only to see the shot go wide as LETU grabbed a 2-1 lead going into the break.

Each team would pick up two shots in the first 33 minutes of the second half. Both team's struggled to get possession near the opposing net. But in the 79^th minute, LETU upped their lead to two when Stevenson scored on an assist from Kristen Wunder. ETBU would have three chances to try and keep within striking distance, but to no avail as the Yellow Jackets would maintain the lead all the way to the final whistle.

ETBU will hit the road to Conway, Ark., to take on Hendrix College on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
