MARSHALL, Texas – For the second game in a row, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team outshot their opponents, yet were unable to show for it on the scoreboard as fell 2-0 to the University of Ozarks. The loss puts ETBU at 5-6-1 overall and 2-5 in the conference play.

Angelica Najera was the top shooter for UO with two shots while she and Rebecca Peterson had a goal each. Kiara Henry kept ETBU's offense scoreless while collecting eight saves in total.

For the first nineteen minutes, the game was played with tight defense from both sides with one ETBU shot coming from Raegan Kappler just seven minutes. It wouldn't be until the 20th minute with Peterson sneaking one past the keeper for the first goal of the match. ETBU would have a few chances to equalize on four opportunities only to have Henry prevent shots from going in. The 1-0 lead for the Eagles would transpire into halftime.

The second half would see more opportunities from ETBU ending early with the presence of UO's defense. ETBU would finally get a shot off eleven minutes in, but Henry made the save. Time after time, ETBU's defense kept UO from advancing to the goalie box while their offense kept struggling trying to score on Henry. The Eagles would capitalize in the 77th minute when Najera scored from outside the box for a 2-0 lead. ETBU had two more chances to capitalize and get on the board. But neither went by UO's keeper as the Eagles preserved the shutout.

ETBU will look to rebound on Saturday when they host the University of Texas-Tyler at 5:00 PM.
