#TIGERSWIN: @ETBU_Softball's Tello No Hits Ozarks

ETBU has now won eight straight games.

MARSHALL, Texas – Completing a five-inning no-hitter from Rocki Tello, the East Texas Baptist University softball team swept the three-game series with an 8-0 victory over the University of Ozarks on Saturday. ETBU will enter next week with an-eight game winning streak at 15-3 overall and are now 9-0 in the American Southwest Conference.

Today belonged to Tello, who pitched a five-inning no-hitter by allowing just one walk while striking out six batters moving to 8-0 on the year. She retired the last 10 batters of the game including four strikeouts

Morgan Arst continued her incredible series with a team-leading three hits while Linzie Lewis drove in four RBI for the team with two hits, which was shared along with MacKenzie Anderson. Taking the loss was Abby Mork, who lasted three innings allowing five runs on six hits while Katie Ventress surrendered the other three runs on three hits in her one inning of work.

After working around a leadoff error in the top of the first inning, ETBU would get four runs in the bottom of the first courtesy of a two-run double by Lewis and a two-run homer by Salts. One inning later, a sacrifice bunt by Jeanette Galvan led to an UO error scoring Nikki Gil to make it 5-0 through two innings.

Both teams would go 1-2-3 in the third inning. After Tello held UO to another 1-2-3 inning in the top of the fourth inning, ETBU would add to their lead as a wild pitch scored by Galvan and a two-run double by Lewis would make it 8-0. Tello would have no trouble in the fifth inning as she finished the game retiring the last ten straight hitters to complete the no-hitter.

ETBU will travel out to Pineville, La., for a three-game series against Louisiana College on Monday and Tuesday. Monday's doubleheader starts at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM while Tuesday's series finale begins at 1:00 PM.
