Box Score 2 SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team fell in both matches against Caltech and Trinity University.
Against CT, ETBU battled hard before losing 5-4. ETBU would take two of three doubles matches as the #2 doubles pair of
Ashley Schenck and
Kaleigh Smith and #3 doubles pair of
Jabree McClaine and
Mullika Seekhieo won their matches by the score of 8-5. In single play,
Elisa Kendall (#2 singles, 6-3, 7-5),
Kaleigh Smith (#3 singles, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4) would pick up the other two points while CT rallied for the final four points.
Following that, ETBU lost 9-0 to TU in their second match of the day. ETBU lost all three doubles matches with the closest coming from the #2 doubles pair of Schenck and Smith, who lost 8-4. In singles play, Smith lost 6-2, 6-3 at #3 singles.
ETBU will resume their season this Friday with a home match against Belhaven at 9:00 AM.
