MARSHALL, Texas – Facing another tough team on the schedule, the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team came up short in an American Southwest Conference crossover match against Texas Dallas. ETBU fell to the Comets, 8-1, and now are 2-8 on the year.

ETBU fell behind 3-0 in doubles play early on. Two tight doubles matches came down to the end in the number two and three matches. Ashley Schenck and Kaleigh Smith fell 8-5 in number two to Elizabeth Labra and Sophie Farmer. Jabree McClaine and Mullika Seekio then dropped and 8-6 decision at number three.

The only win came at number two singles as Elisa Kendall won 6-2, 6-3 over Sindhu Ravula. Seekhieo fell in a tie breaker at number four singles, 6-4, 6-7 (2-7), 10-4. Schenck also then dropped a close match, 3-6, 7-5, 10-4 at number six singles.

ETBU will host Belhaven University on Friday at 9:00 a.m. at the Veteran's Memorial Tennis Complex.
