TYLER, Texas – Making short work of their first round opponent in the American Southwest Conference Tournament, the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team came away with a 5-0 win over Howard Payne University.

ETBU took all three doubles matches as the #1 pair of Elisa Kendall and Kaleigh Smith won 8-2 in their match while Jabree McClaine and Tess Willis won 8-1 at #2 doubles. It took a while for the #3 pair of Ashley Schenck and Mullika Seekhieo to win as they came away with a 9-8 (7-3) tiebreaker win. ETBU would get the final two points from Kendall at #2 singles (6-0, 6-0) and Smith at #3 singles (6-2, 6-0).

ETBU will take on the University of Texas Dallas tomorrow at 10:30 am. The winner of the match will head to the championship match on Saturday at 11:00 am.
