ASC: @ETBU_Softball Falls in First Game at ASC Tournament

Box Score
TYLER, Texas – A late offensive surge from Concordia University-Texas became the difference in the first game of the American Southwest Conference Championship Softball Tournament as East Texas Baptist University fell, 4-3. ETBU is now 31-10 and will play on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. due to weather postponing the games on Friday. They will face the loser of the Texas Tyler/University of Mary Hardin-Baylor game in an elimination game.

MacKenzie Anderson and Jackie Ramos led the team with two hits each. Grace Comacho had one hit for two RBI while Anderson added the other RBI. Jordan Anderson took the loss going seven innings and recording four strikeouts giving up two earned runs.

ETBU jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. Camacho had a single to left field that brought in both Anderson and Morgan Arst. It looked as if ETBU would take a larger lead in the second inning with the bases loaded and one out but they couldn't bring in the runs as they kept the two-run lead. Anderson picked up her RBI in the fourth inning on her second double of the day as Ramos scored to make it 3-0. CTX then added two runs in the fifth and tied in the sixth inning before getting the go-ahead run in the seventh inning.

ETBU will now have to play in the elimination game on Saturday afternoon.
