Day 1 Blog
The ETBU Women's Basketball team departed Marshall on Wednesday morning for the sixth trip of ETBU's Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME). The group of 27, consisting of student-athletes, coaches, and staff, will spend the next 8 days serving in Jamaica alongside Ignite International.Â
Â
Dr. Lisa Seeley, ETBU Director of Global Education shared the following, "This has been a great first day! Coach Rainbolt and Coach Henson have prepared our ETBU Women's Basketball team both physically and spiritually for our time in Jamaica. This team is ready to share the joy of the Lord that is shining bright in their own hearts with this island that is so full of spiritual oppression. Please pray for spiritual boldness in the days ahead."

"Waking up at 4:30 AM this morning was a lot easier than usual. Being able to get to the airport and spending time with the team was a blast. It is great to be back together again as a team and we are enjoying getting to know the a few of the new players a little more. I've only flown internationally once before, so it was a cool experience to go through customs and to land in a completely different country. We arrived at the cottages in Montego Bay and we are excited to begin this journey together for the next week and not only grow closer to Christ as individuals, but also serve Him as a team.
Â
We ate dinner around 6:00 PM, which was prepared by lovely Ms. Gloria and her daughter Ms. Sandra, and then we made our way to the local beach where there were about 100 Jamaicans swimming. The culture is very laidback and according to the Jamaicans they 'don't have problems, just situations.'Â We are all so excited to get our trip started and be able to explore and learn more about the island while sharing the love of Christ!"
