ROUND ROCK, Texas – Looking to get their first victory in American Southwest Conference play, the East Texas Baptist University men's soccer team came up short against Concordia (TX) 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Round Rock MultiSports Complex. ETBU is now 2-3 on the season and 0-2 in the ASC.
Dominic Wood led the team in shot attempts, taking two of the team's five total shots and one coming on goal.

Daniel Rutter each attempted one shot in the match.
Bryant Botello manned the defense with nine saves on CTX's 18 shot attempts. Jason Sasco-Vertiz and Bryan Luna each scored a goal for the Tornados.
Sasco-Vertiz put CTX on the board first, scoring the game's first goal at the 11:55 mark of the first period for the 1-0 lead.
ETBU would have the opportunity to score at the 19:17 mark of the match, but Rutter's shot attempt was blocked away, keeping the Tigers off the board.
ETBU went into the half trailing the Tornados 1-0. CTX attempted nine shots in the first half compared with the Tiger's lone attempt by Rutter. CTX produced yet another score with Cole converting the goal off the assist by Ronny Garza, increasing the lead to 2-0 at the 60:36 mark of the match.
The Tornados kept the Tigers off the board and came away with the 2-0 conference win.
ETBU will return to Cornish Field to face ASC opponent Hardin-Simmons on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 7:30 p.m.
