#TIGERSWIN: @ETBU_Soccer Closes Out Road Trip with 1-0 Victory over BCM

ROME, Ga.Looking to end their road trip on a high note, the East Texas Baptist University men's soccer team used stellar play and stingy defense throughout the ballgame to come up with the 1-0 win over Berry College. With Saturday afternoon's win, ETBU improves to 2-1 on the season, and will continue the road trip with an American Southwest Conference matchup against University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Thursday, Sept. 13.

Silas Sangano scored the team's only goal of the contest on his only attempt of the day. Samuel Arellano handed out the team's only assist of the day, while Juan Cairo led the Tigers in shot attempts, at four. Bryant Botello anchored the defense, notching five saves on the day. As a team, ETBU outshot BC, launching 12 total shots to the home team's 11. The Vikings did outshoot the Tigers at the net, with six shots to ETBU's four.

The game was scoreless for the first 34 minutes of the first period, until Sangano nailed the game's first goal off the feed from Arellano, giving ETBU the lead (1-0).

The second half saw BCM attempt to get on the board. The Vikings launched 10 shots total, with six coming right at the net. Botello would play stellar defense at the net, as the senior collected five steals in the second period.
