RICHARDSON, Texas - Unable to counter the hot shooting of the University of Texas Dallas, the East Texas Baptist University men's basketball team fell, 113-73, at the UT Recreation Center. ETBU is now 6-8 overall and 4-4 in the American Southwest Conference East Division.
ETBU had four players in double-figures with
Nathan Fontenot leading the way with 16 points.
Zach Elliott had 15 points and a team-high six rebounds while both
Spencer Cochran and
Jarrell Taylor each had 11 points. UTD was led by Demitrius Underwood, who finished scoring 22 points. Jalen Weber scored all 19 points in the first half while Curtis Allen and Xavier Ferrell tallied 16 points apiece.
The Comets made 53.5% from the field to ETBU's 49.1%. This also included a 51.5% night from three-point range and 90.9% from the free throw line. ETBU would make 34.6% from the three-point line and 66.7% from the free throw line.
ETBU will be back in action on Saturday with a 3:00 PM game at Ornelas Gym against Centenary.
