BROWNWOOD, Texas – Facing their toughest road trip the season to date taking on two nationally ranked opponents, the East Texas Baptist University Women's tennis team will take on #21 Trinity University and #13 Washington University-St. Louis in San Antonio. ETBU is currently 3-1 after falling to Texas Dallas last weekend.
The Tigers opened up last week with a 9-0 win over Howard Payne. They started with a 2-1 lead in doubles play as the (#2) duo of
Tiffany Stankiewicz/
Olivia Parmelly won 8-0.
Tess Willis/
Cassidy Wilcoxson (#3) won 8-0 by default. In singles play, Stankiewicz (#1) won 6-1, 6-1, and Parmelly (#2) won 6-0, 6-1.
Kaleigh Smith,
Tess Willis, and Seekheio all won by default.
On Saturday, the Tigers face the 10
th ranked team in the West Region in Texas Dallas dropping the match, 8-1. Picking up the lone point for ETBU was Smith (#4) in singles play as she won 6-3, 7-5.
These matches are three and four of a nine-match road trip that ETBU will take through February into March.
