SAN ANTONIO, Texas – For the second day in a row, the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team faced a nationally ranked opponent in #13 Washington University-St. Louis. ETBU fell to the Bears, 8-1, and now is 3-3 on the year.
ETBU's lone point came in doubles play as
Tiffany Stankiewicz and
Elisa Kendall took the number two match, 8-7, winning the tiebreaker 7-5.
Mullika Seekhieo and
Tess Willis lost in number three doubles, 8-6, and Kaliegh Smith and
Olivia Parmelly fell, 8-4, in number on doubles.
In singles play, ETBU fell in two tie breaking matches. Stankiewicz fell in number three singles, 6-0, 4-6, 7-10, and then Kendall lost at number one, 2-6, 6-0, 7-10.
ETBU will travel to Sherman, Texas, next weekend and play both Hardin-Simmons University and Austin College.
